Clicker Training Dogs

Clicker Training emerged not too long ago, a dog training system that relies on positive reinforcement. Before that, dog training employed ONLY negative reinforcement but has since then gone for a turn. This website focuses on clicker training dogs. The term can be used interchangeably with "marker training".

The only particular difference is that clicker training specifically uses a clicker. Marker training your dog can mean using a clicker as well but can also mean a word or a phrase.

How Long You Should Clicker Train For and Placement of Reward

Training sessions are always best in short increments of time, usually at approximately 2 to 3 inutes. However, with marker training, these sessions can be a lot longer. This will depend on the dog and its motivation level as well as how difficult it that you're trying to train.
